About Longview Glass

Longview Glass has provided commercial and residential glass installation and service for northeast Texas since 1946!

Today they continue to expand their customer base and territory by pursuing and completing large commercial and residential projects.

Harrison County Glass opened in 2003 to serve the Marshall area.

Longview Glass/Harrison County Glass continues to be a leader in the glass industry by continually updating their product lines and being innovative in the use of those products. Scott, Bruce and Robert regularly attend industry trade shows and visit supplier and manufacturing plants to stay abreast of current construction and design trends.

Longview Glass Founded

Duane Meier opened Longview Glass on the corner of Highway 80 and Second Street in Longview

1952
Mar-Tex Glass Founded

Harrison Forbes and Ray Lawson opened Mar-Tex Glass in Marshall

1961
Companies Combine

Longview Glass and Mar-Tex Glass formed a corporation. Bud Beeson joined as a partner.

1977
Growth

The companies had quadrupled in size and were installing glass as far away as Memphis, El Paso and Mobile, as well as East Texas

1985
Transition

Harrison assumed sole ownership of Longview Glass; Ray Lawson assumed sole ownership of Mar-Tex Glass; other partners Meier and Beeson retire

1987
Team Growing

Scott Forbes joined as Vice President of Longview Glass

1991
New President

Bruce Forbes joined as President of Longview Glass

2003
Harrison County Glass Founded

Opened Harrison County Glass in Marshall and hired Ray Lawson to manage

2008
Mar-Tex Merges into Harrison

Acquired the assets of Mar-Tex Glass and merged into the Harrison County Glass operation

2010
Expansion

Longview Glass sales revenue increase fifteen-fold with continuous expansion of customer base size and territory

2013
Robert Forbes Joins Longview Glass

Bruce's son, Robert, joined as an estimator in the commercial division.
